This blog post serves as the base post for my new “A Glimpse in my Classroom” blog series. This blog post will give an overview of my schedule and indicate which blogs in the series will provide more information about that part of the day.
My buses start arriving at 7:30 and school start at 7:50. The first 20 minutes is spent arriving at school, getting unpacked, bathroom breaks and using technology. My schedule picks up below at 8:00.

8:00-8:30 Morning Work
My students complete morning work every morning. We also run IEP bins at this time. IEP bins contain the materials we need to work on various IEP goals. Read more about my IEP bins here!.
8:30-9:10
We run reading rotations during this time. Students complete a teacher-led reading group with me and reading centers with an aide during this rotation. Some students will also do reading work in their independent centers. You can read more about my reading instruction here and read more about my reading centers here.
9:10-9:40
We run math rotations during this time. Students complete a teacher-led math group with me and math centers with an aide during this rotation. Some students will also do reading work in their independent centers. You can learn more about math centers here!
9:40-10:10
We use my weekly thematic packs on a 2-week rotation in my classroom. This chunk of time is set aside for the weekly theme. A blog post about my weekly theme will be released later in 2019.
10:10-10:25
I teach in a coding school. This means all students need to be exposed to computer coding. A blog post about how I work on coding in my classroom will be released in Feburary of 2019.
10:25-10:40
I do a read-aloud every day in my classroom. My low-level literacy blog will share where I get the read-aloud from. That blog post can be accessed here.
10:40-11:00
My students complete independent work during this time. My blog about independent work will be released in March 2019.
11:00-11:45
Lunch and Recess
11:45-12:00
We do a second round of independent work during this time. It is the perfect transition into the second half of our day.
12:00-12:30
We complete our science and social studies instruction whole group. A blog will be released later in 2019.
12:30-1:00
We complete an adapted art or fine motor project every day. My occupational therapist pushings in for 3/5 days and my speech therapist pushes in 2/5 days. My blog about adapted art will be released in February 2019.
1:00-1:30
We complete language arts rotations during this time. Students complete a teacher-led language arts group with me and tracing centers with an aide during this rotation. 1:30-2:00
We do calendar in the afternoon. This time fit my schedule best. I use my own calendar routine product in my classroom. If you are interested in the songs we listen to during calendar, check out this blog!
2:00-2:30
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday we have Adapted PE. On Tuesday and Thursday we work on our CBI, treat cart. You can read about the basic concept of treat cart here. I adapted treat cart this year. More information about how we complete treat cart now will be released in March 2019.
