Hi! My name’s Nicole. I’m so glad that you are here! I teach a class for students with Autism in grades 3-5. I teach a self-contained class. This means my class is based out of my self-contained classroom, although I have many students who go out of the classroom for both academic inclusion and lunch/recess with general education peers. I love creating content packs that help my students access science and social studies curriculum. I also love finding ways to make learning more hands-on for all of my friends.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my husband Corey. If you follow me on Instagram you pretty much know who Corey is. He makes frequent appearances and not only edits everything I post to TPT, he is amazing at sped prep too. We got married on April 30, 2016 and we live in Northen Virginia.
We have a rescue dog named Buster. He is 4 years old. He is a beagle, hound corgi mix. We adopted him from the local animal shelter and he is, by far, the best decision I ever made. I’m a total dog mom and I love him to absolute pieces.
You may have heard the term VAAP across my blog, social media and store. VAAP stands for the Virginia Alternative Assessment Program. It is a portfolio based assessment we use to test students with significant cognitive needs in lieu of the standard state testing. I create a lot of aligned standards materials to help my students become more successful. These materials can be used by everyone! I try to be super clear in my descriptions. Don’t be concerned if you are not in Virginia, feel free to contact me to see if something works for your classroom.
I’m happy that you stopped by!
