If you are not sure what Adapted Thematic Packs are, read this blog post.
The first category of Adapted Thematic Packs is hands-on materials. I use these items to help my students learn the vocabulary of the pack. I will use these materials as part of instruction and as part of independent work centers.
The first item is adapted books. These kick off our reading block for the month and are perfect for introducing the concepts. Level A helps students identify the pictures and Level B expands to include a fact about the vocabulary concept.
The errorless book is perfect for students working on an errorless level. Want to learn more about errorless learning? Read this blog post!
3 sets of task cards are included in each pack. The concepts covered are matching picture to picture, big to small and picture to word.
7 file folders come in each pack. There are always two errorless file folders. Two sorts come as well: a big and small sort and a sort between two vocabulary pictures. The last three file folders are matching. There is a nine-piece match, a 16 piece match and a picture to word match.
5 clip cards come with each pack as well. The clip cards work on beginning and ending sounds, counting, matching and yes/no questions.
The money board works best when laminated and used with a dry erase marker. Students can count read coins or play coins using this board!
The tracing book can be used a variety of ways, although my favorite way is to laminate and use with a dry erase marker.
The receptive language task is perfect for non-verbal students or limited communicators. See this youtube video for more information ( 00:00-20:00 show how to set up the task and 20:00 to the end show the task in action).
